Clearly, a Hoosier is someone who resides in Indiana. Just like Texans live in Texas and Iowans live in Iowa, silly.
Honestly, I’ve asked around and no one here knows. I even worked in the Indiana University Office of Marketing for several years and they didn’t have an answer. In any case, there really is not a clear answer but Wikipedia has a little information.
I just know what it means to me. Family.
