M’s was in high school when his great uncle Harry died. Harry was a widower without children so the family held an auction at the farm. In that way, if someone in the family really wanted something, they bid on it. Well, M bid on a box of junk. At least that’s what it looked like. The box was full of letters and keepsakes. When he got home, he discovered a diary in the bottom of the box.

That’s how M learned about Harry’s late wife, M’s great aunt Polly.

I’ll be posting entries from the diary here. I’d like to know what you think of it. I want to “do something” with it. One friend suggested historical based fiction, another a screen play. I just don’t know. Is it interesting enough? I wept the first time I read it, it was so touching. But that doesn’t mean anyone else would like to read it.

I’ll group these by year for now. I’ll be adding entries every couple of days. The spellings are Polly’s.
