So by local standards, my family isn’t really all that big. It’s just that we’re an all-inclusive family. Meaning when we get together, no one wants to be left out so besides siblings, there are nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews. When my side of the family gets together, there are 47 of us and one on the way; on M’s side, there are 24 of us with two on the way.
I have a sister and three brothers. My parents sort of had two families. They had Mike and Nancy then waited a few years and had Patrick, me, and Jim. Mike was 15 and Nancy was 13 when I was born. Nancy married when I was 10. M has a brother and a sister.
M and I have only one daughter, Jessica. However, my sibs and his sibs have larger families, hence all the nieces and nephews.
