By town, I really mean the west side of town which is where I live and have lived for most of my life. There is a clear distinction here between east and west.
A Brief History
Settled in 1812, Evansville is situated on a horseshoe bend on the Ohio River and sometimes is referred to as “River City” or “Crescent City.” Evansville is the third-largest city in Indiana and the largest city in Southern Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 121,582, and a metropolitan population of 342,815. It is the county seat of Vanderburgh County and the regional hub for the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky Tri-State Area which means people from surrounding counties come here to shop and eat at restaurants.
